I just love Deepak Chopra and believe everything he says. I am a Reiki Level II practitioner, but live in a small Texas town and wonder if I took this to a nursing home how many would think I was nuts. I guess it just takes time.

Why should Newsweek attack Oprah Winfrey?

Here’s Why:

Oprah’s TV show advocates Natural Medicine and Bioidentical Hormones in direct competition to the interests of the Pharmaceutical Industry which makes synthetic hormones. Newsweek is merely an attack dog for the drug industry. A typical issue of Newsweek magazine contains $2 million in pharma ads.

Oprah is depicted as a voodoo witch on the Newsweek cover in a desperate attempt to please the drug company sponsors of a failing magazine.

Suzanne I think it's great that you're addressing health from an alternative perspective and helping to put out information about the importance of hormone balance in relation to women's health. My mother finds your books to be very interesting, and so do I. I think it would be great if you could talk about hormones as it relates to sexual dysfunction in young women as well. Most people, authors, researchers, doctors seem to only talk about sexual dysfunction related to men, women going through menopause or in their later middle aged years due to stress and age.

However no one ever really addresses this issue in women who are in their 20's to early 30's who seem normal, but actually lack sex drive and are not able to experience sexual pleasure due to low hormones or reproductive issues. I have this problem with sexual dysfunction ( I'm 25 years old ), and I am sure that there has to be other young women out there that are suffering the same problem and would like to know they are not alone and what they could do about it.It's a very frustrating and depressing problem that has very little research for this age group. I've recently come across your books and they have really helpful information about hormones in relation to body function and age. I honestly think it would be cool if you could help address the issue of hormones as they relate to young women as well in health as well. Keep up the great work and spreading the message of health and balance

Deepak Chopra is a wise and insightful soul. He has an exact and firm understanding of our conventional medical establishment (here in the United States) - and their continued denial of the power of alternative medicine. I read Mr. Chopra's article and yes, he is absolutely correct! As I mentioned before, it is all about the money!

It should not be called "Health Care" in this country, it should be correctly called, "Disease Care". The conventional medical establishment cares not about preventative medicine, but sadly only pushing drugs and surgery, as they have no other alternatives.

I applaud Ms. Somers fight to educate the people of this country. My mother-in-law died as a result of using synthetic hormones! Had their been bioidentical hormone replacement, she would still be alive today.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is a layperson's term for the treatment of the hormone deficiencies caused by menopause using only molecules that are identical to the endogenous hormones found in the human body. BHRT differs from traditional hormone replacement therapy which includes animal-derived and invented molecules that are similar to, but not identical, to human hormones. The primary bioidentical hormones replaced in human females, estradiol and progesterone, are available in both FDA-approved and individualized pharmacy-compounded products.

Hi Suzanne,

I have searched high and low. I have contacted people from your Doctor's reference from your books. These doctor's in the Chicago area are afraid to help women (me) who have had breast cancer. I am a one year survivor. I know that BHRT is the answer and everyone one of them is telling me No. They tell me to take out my ovaries (they are dead anyway from Chemo). My internist told me that there are no studies that show women who have had cancer need to have their ovaries taken out. And my blood tests show they are dead. My oncologist will not treat me any further without them removed. I am moving on......

I think more women doctor's should be strong like you and take a stand, but even they are too afraid. I am getting nowhere FAST. This is making me question the medical field over and over again. And, yet I need one of them so I can go on.

I am presently reading Dr Chopra's book Ageless Body Timeless Mind.
The man is Brilliant!! It is remarkable pioneers like Dr.Chopra that is going to change the future of Health Treatment/or Illness Prevention.
The attack on Oprah is just one more attempt by the powers that be $$$$ Pharm Companies, Doctors in their pockets, and media advertisers to bash All and Anyone who happens to mention that HEALTH happens before someone gets ill. If someone happens to have symptoms it does not always have to mean hand them a perscription-and if that one does not work.. Hand them a different perscription- and so on..
It can mean get them BALANCED! Nutrition- get them moving, sleeping, supplements, Water, and hormones.

I'm so excited to get started on this program, BIHR! The more I read, the more I believe! I've been suffering for the past two years and am currently at an all time low. So knowing there's hope and help for people like me, who do not 'sail through menopause', is truely a LIFE SAVER! I read half of your book, Ageless, the first day I got it. Every page I turned gave me more and more hope! The doctors I've seen over the past year have done nothing but prescribe more antidepressants, blood pressure meds, suggested therapy, etc. Now I have ringing in my ears, can't sleep without a sleep aid and weep more than I did before I paid them for their expert direction! I'm horrified that they don't know what they're doing and can charge us money for that! I just quit taking the PremPro because that did nothing either. I am making an appointment with one of the recommended doctors in Orlando that have done their research, made their decision, and are going upstream to help us! Thank you Suzanne, for your willingness to be open and transparent because of your passion to help others! I thank God for sending this information to me! Melody

Thanks so much Suzanne! It's really too bad to see how the drug companies dominate the medical community. We need to be focusing on eradicating these diseases as well as treating the patients that already have them. That being said, pushing some of these drugs into production before they've properly been tested needs to be addressed. What's the point of having a "great new drug" when it's side-effects outweigh it's benefits?!
