I thought that the other interview with Kathie Lee and Hoda went much better as they clearly love you and allowed you to speak without constantly interrupting you. I got your book, Knockout, and was knocked out when I read what happened to you in the first chapter. It was so good to hear that you are well. Suzanne, I saw the interview on your site and will try to catch Larry King tomorrow and Rachael Ray next week. The other night I was in Target and read the first chapter of your book. I'm awaiting the delivery of my own copy, but couldn't resist.

Oh my god. Well, the picture on the front is really good. Wish I'd read more good news inside. I told my honey about it, and how Alan was with you the whole time. Barry Manilow--what a sweetheart. I can't wait to read the rest of the book; it should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

Soon, I hope, I will be seeing Dr. Sakina Davis as a patient. Every time I go there for my thermography I see the pic of you and Dr. Davis and wish I could have a copy. It's a really good picture, too.

I'll say this til I die--If it weren't for you, I'd be in very sorry shape. So would a lot of other women. A thousand thanks to you and for the work you do and publish, as well as Alan and your family and employees who work with you and support you. Only in America can someone change careers as radically as you have--and be a success at it. I guess the harsh critics are a measure of good success.

Hi Suzanne. I'm writing to support your continued courage in speaking up for alternatives in the face of such a massive and entrenched business model for the delivery of US healthcare. My AZ doctor opened her own integrative medicine office and she seems to be much happier with her options as a healthcare provider. I have your book on my list and hope you sell enough to make a dent in our collective belief system out here. I'm absolutely appalled at the way you were treated by Ann Currie. I used to watch the Today Show at least a little bit of it each day, for what I call "News Light". However, in the future I think I will be getting my Light News elsewhere. The NBC slant on "news" has become just intolerable! Thanks for your dedication to getting the truth out there. They will try to make it seem like you're some kind of nut, it's their way of trying to cover up the truth. Hang in there!

hi suzanne: i heard your excellent interview with thom hartmann on yesterday's show. you gave a lot of good information which was easily understood by the average layperson. i tossed (to our local clean sweep program) all chemical-type household cleaners; i each organically as much as possible, recycle. with what i am doing i think i manage to live a healthy lifestyle.

i do not know where you live, but i am betting it is in a pretty nice neighborhood, where the homes/people maintain lush lawns, including use of pesticides/herbicides to kill weeds and other invasives. i do not believe at all in these :treatments" of lawns and have turn my front lawn into a perennial garden. however, i have 5 neighbors in my immediate vicinity which employ a yard "service" to come and spray the bejesus out of their lawns. how does one protect oneself against this? i did manage to talk one neighbor out of using chemicals, which felt like a small victory.

how do you manage the care of your lawn, and have you convinced any neighbors that pesticides are not healthy for humans or animals?

They told Suzanne she had masses of tumors in her lungs, which had metastasized to her liver, kidneys, all over her abdomen - they said it was everywhere. They did a biopsy of her lung by going through her neck. There is a scar. When the biopsy came back, it showed no sign of cancer. I just want to say almost a year ago my DR. had diagnosed me with four things two were pretty serious. Instead of going to all the specialists she recomended I decided to take that money and go to body logic Md to get tested and boy are they good . I was flat lined pretty much in most all my hormones I'm surprised I wasn't dead, no wonder why I was so ill .I was so estrogen dominent that my body was perfectly set up for cancer.I say all this because I'm so grateful to you Suzanne for taking such a stand for true health! I'm doing much ,much better my health has really turned around.I'm looking pretty good for 42 thanks to you! This past year I've read ageless,breakthough and now Knock out ,can't put it down! I'm learning so much from those awesome Dr.'s Thanks again!!!!!!

I just wanted to say thank you. The first step to change is having someone speak up and tell the truth about the alternative medicine field. Their will always be the people who don’t believe in alternative medicine treatments, who say their all fake, and who just don’t believe in a better quality of life for their friends, family and sadly many times their patients. Keep up the good work, and keep your head up. You’re battling the big boys, and with that come the critiques but also supporters as well. And I’m happy to be one of them.

I’ve worked in the alternative cancer field for many years, and she brings up some great points. I know Dr. James Forsythe personally and the man is doing great things for cancer patients. I don’t see anything negative about that, he’s helping people.

i'm watching the larry king show now and it's challenging to see how larry king and the the dr's are marginalizing you. i understand...i WAS dying from an autoimmune genetic disease but was told that I had IBS and it would resolve. the medical community is vested in maintaining their position of power.

the audacity and arrogance of the dr's keeps false trust placed in them.

there needs to be an expose on the costs of poor and dangerous medical care. that's the core problem, even more than the insurance industry.

I'm watching you on Larry King right now. First I am proud of you for being so courageous to stand up to Drs and specialist. My husband died of pancreatic/liver cancer many years ago as a young man of 44. He did not opt for chemo-treatment. I was raised as a vegetarian, though not now- I eat chicken & fish. I'm a supporter of homeopathic/eastern-alternative whole body approach, though still use western methods for check-ups primarily. My main comment is this- humans have been on this planet for too many years, don't you think it strange that in our life time our health & livelyhood is mainly determined via the scope of controlled science & medicine? (I'm a person of science & arts too.) Some how being human enough to look after your own body is challenged, after all these centuries of proven life. I look forward to your book. You inspire me seeing your beauty and cont'd courage. I wish you lots of Godspeed in your personal & professional quest. Drs. don't give up thier egos willingly. I'm so sorry to hear about your frightening ordeal.

I watched your interview on Larry King and found myself extremely frustrated at how you and the "alternative" doctors were were not allowed to finish your aswers - continually cut off. It was hard to hear Larry not letting you even finish your story in the beginning. I would like to see someone interview you for an hour and let you talk. I give you so much credit for going against the "standard of care" doctors and being able to tolerate the obvious frustrations. This health care system we have is becoming morbidly rediculous. I'm waiting for my book to arrive, but have the short version of what happened to you last November. It is unbelievable that this happens in our medical system! I believe it is "wealth care" not "health care"!!!!!!!!! I have insurance that I can't even use because I can't afford the $10,000 deductable! I will only use that in the event of an emergency. I so want to see the BodylogicMD doctor in Milwaukee, but can't afford it right now. I will learn all I can from your book. I have all the others! Thank you for bringing all of this to our attention. I think you have shown great courage to make public what is going on in the cancer industry today. And to publicly protect those researchers and doctors that are risking everything to bring the cure of cancer to the world. It saddens me to know how deeply the corrupt and greedy have become entrenched, while millions of people die needlessly in order to make big pharmaceutical companies richer and political parties becoming puppets of those big money interest.

I wonder if your cancer being misdiagnosed was not divine intervention, maybe you are the champion to rise up and destroy the political cancer that prevents there ever being a cancer cure found. God bless you for what you’re doing.

I am so proud of what Suzanne Somers is doing, standing up for us and helping us learn that we have choices. I know she goes through a rough battle with the medical community trying to say she's not a doctor bla bla.. but she lived it and learned as have I in my hormonal issues as well as my husband's battle with throat and then terminal panceratic cancer. We went to NYC to see Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Isaacs and totally believe in their protocol. They are brillant doctors and even I, whom is healthy, follow their program in order to stay healthy. Its a shame that their work is not taken seriously but then again, they would put the pharmacuticals out of business..
Last night on Larry King when Dr. Black said " we offer chemo to terminal patients to help their families feel better as if something is being done" I felt sick. So instead of turning them to Dr. Gonzalez, where there is real HOPE, we will just shoot them up with posion so they can start to feel the pain and suffereing from the drugs, even though we know they won't work, just to have the family think we are doing something.. Thats nuts.. but its to the tune of maybe $25k a visit.. and they tell you to just go ahead and eat whatever you want.. I remember our doctor telling my husband to eat whatever he wanted and I looked at him and said " Oh no, thats not going to happen".
Our doctor was shocked but I think rather impressed that we made the choice to go to NYC to see the doctors there. I think doctors are so use to telling us what to do and we depend on them competely to tell us what to do but WE decided what we were going to do and luckily, our oncologist supported us and sent us off with his blessings.
I pre-oreder Knockout and cannot wait to read it.. and I am educating our friends with what Ive learned in ways to eat healthier, juicing, detox methods and we are all feeling great.. People can take it or leave it, its your life and your health. For folks like Mary, who really don't want to listen, can't say we didn't try to help them when the day comes that they get sick. I call that Quackery!

It is extremely heart warming, now that I have come to the mainland (to live for awhile) to see and hear that there are others who truly understand the meaning of 'Healing'. I had a chance to go to my friend's house to watch you on Larry King last night (Oct. 23,'09)...WELL DONE!
I do not have a television and don't bother myself with all of uninteresting things I hear about that are on the 'TV' these days. I encourage you to continue speaking out..'until it hurts!' As you are...I too, am a believer in what they call alternative care. We,in Hawai'i have been taking care of healing people with many kinds of ailments (including cancer) for many years. My Kumu (teacher) had been doing this for over 70 years until his passing. Suzanne I am confused. In your interview on Larry King you said you had been mistakenly diagnosed with cancer twice in your life. However on your website you say you have had cancer.
I am also confused about why you will not name the hospital in which such terrible things happened to you. Surely if you are genuinely wanting to empower people to make good decisions and wanting to improve health care for Americans you would follow through on this terrible treatment.
I would agree that it is very unusual to have a biopsy of the lung done through the throat. I am very surprised that a person such as yourself who is so aware of health issues would allow this to happen without at least asking a second opinion.

Suzanne, you are a pioneer for all of us. Thank you for your courage, stamina and insight. I was very disappointed in the attitude of the "opposing" doctors on Larry King interview. Doctors should be able to disagree without being condescending and rude. It is amazing that in a great country like America new ideas are scourned. I suppose this proves it is true that the insurance and pharmaceutical industries do have influence and power! The "cure" and "survival" rates for all cancers are not that high that science should ignore a "new way". Thank you, Suzanne. I am not gulible and I trust you. I am hard to convince and I believe most of what you say. I use my instincts and I know your intention is extremely honorable. Carry on, Suzanne. You will be in the company of many great pioneers. When we hear "breaking news" in the "mainstream media" about health, hormones, diets and cancer research, I always follow the news with, "Suzanne said that a few months ago, didn't she?". Hello, I saw you on Fox and Friends during the week last week and over the weekend.I can relate to your experience.I was born with Tummers on my bladder at birth.When I was born my body was swollen with urin.Because my bladder was blocked by tummers in my lower stomach around and on my bladder.I'm very fortunate to be alive.An over the years I have had some tummers removed over the years.But i still have small tummers on my legs and torso.Believe it or not my parents put me in dancing as a child.I took tap,jazz,and ballet.When I reached Middle School and High School I earned scholarships to The School of American Ballet and The Joffery Ballet along with others.But I attended those 2 Ballet School.Anyways to make a long story short.I did have a short career as a Professional Ballet Company In Cleveland with the Cleveland/San Jose Ballet.But I have always been self concious because of a huge scare from my sternum to my navel.An I have a 2 huge scare accross my dariar and lower back area.When I took my first shower in middle school after PE I got laughed at by a kid in school.AN I never took a shower after PE again.But,I always did get picked on because I danced.There's tons of stuff i could keep going on about.But I won't.Mrs/Miss Sommers you have always been a Beautiful Woman.An that will never change.Remebering back to watching you on Three's Company with John Ritter and everyone else.Brings back fond memories of pleasantness of my early childhood.I pray some day.I could meet a Beautiful Smart woman like yourself.God Bless You and Thank You!!!

No one really wants to hear about something that can help you naturally. I totally believe like you. a few years ago I told my husband "If I get cancer I'm noyt having chemo, I don't care what happens. I do believe we can all be healed in a more natural matter. I'm on chapter 7 of your book. I really love it. I have been telling everyone about it. I just think it sad that people don't want to listen. Keep up the good work. You are a great person.

Great job, Suzanne. I have been passionately involved with alternative remedies and self care for 15 years and truly applaude you for standing up for what you believe in. My husband and 2 children, including myself, have learned to take care of ourselves with an emphasis on jin shin jyutsu and homeopathy. Wouldn't it be something if Medical Schools taught along these lines? But, they won't. My mother did not die from cancer...she died from chemotherapy. But, it led me down a different road which turned into a beautiful blessing...which I am passing on to my own children. God Bless you!!

First of all, I like much of what Suzanne has to say, but note the following:

Suzanne had from her own account, stage 1 breast cancer. She had surgery, then radiation, which is the conventional treatment for many, many with Stage 1. I know from people I know that were in a similar situation. So it's misleading for her to say she treated herself with unconventional methods. That's simply not true and is misleading and dangerous.

Also, how did Suzanne come down with that MASSIVE infection last November? It's usually caused from people with compromised immune systems from chemotherapy, aids, and some medications. Did the "stuff" she is taking have something in them that could have caused this horrific breakdown? Don't you wonder?

Can Suzanne explain the contradiction in that chapter. She has supported the Wiley protocol which involves taking steroids and yet she writes in her book that she never takes them. Does she not know that Estradiol is a steroid?

I watched your Larry King interview on Friday. You are wonderful, however I and others I spoke with were very frustrated by Larry's continuous "commercial" breaks!
Barely anytime to cover anything...I feel you have so much to talk about...I kept thinking to myself, SUZANNE NEEDS HER OWN TALK SHOW or show where she can continuously keep the public aware and updated on new findings. She could have interviews with different doctors, patient success stories, etc. I feel we REALLY need something like this!
Are there others that agree with me? It's definitely time!

In your speaking engagements, you MUST talk about the hospital you were at and the doctor's you saw, etc. The story in your book is too vague. You are losing credibilty fast. People are talking and some are even saying that the whole hospital story might be made up. People are wondering why they never heard about you being rushed to the hospital like we usually do when something happens to any celebrity and how 6 doctors could get a diagnosis wrong and why you will not name the hospital or doctors. I am a big fan of yours and purchased your new book as soon as it was released. Please set the record straight. Thanks for getting all of this great information out in the open. I have seen too many people ravaged by chemo. Thanks!!

Suzanne, I hear alot of talk that you are doing about alternative treatments for cancer and I have to say that my daughter being 6 years old diagnosed with a anaplastic astrocytoma grade 3-4 expected life 1 year (this included doing chemo and radiation and surgery) well can i tell u she had surgery, 30 days or radiation and 6 weeks of high dose chemo and then we said no to 7 months of high dose chemo.. the doctors let us do this because they said that they "XCOULD NOT CURE HER" we searched for an alternative treatment and found one... My girl is now over the year mark since surgery and Feb. is 1 year for alternative treatment and her last mri is still showing NO CANCER!!!!!!!all the doctors can say is just keep doing what u are doing....BELIEVE ME WE WILL....people look at our girl and cannot even believe that she has cancer she looks so good and has never been sick...oh yeah except when she was on the chemo.....i would like to say for those of you who believe in chemo whole heartedly you just go right ahead and take it..but i know better!!!!see you in a coffin when u have a heart attack... GOD BLESS SUZANNE good work... would love to talk to you and cant wait to read your book...I have like you learned so much and feel like a doctor in many ways, I also think that if more people did more research and not just reading what the pharmaseutical companies put out they would not be so quick to judge you and your aletnative methods... let me appologize for there ignorance for they truly do not know!!!!!!!!

I would just like to say, that being a stage 1 and having the surgery and radiation cures a Lot of people.Which by the way is traditional cancer treatment. Being stage 4 is another. I am a stage 4 and have been fighting this for 5 years. I was dx'd a stage 4 and have been fighting with traditional treatment and it works, otherwise I wouldn't still be here. I have a friend who also is a stage 4, her cancer isn't as progressed as mine right now, but the thing is she believes you and has stopped treatment. I think having been only a stage one and misleading all of these people that are stage 4 or that have more agressive cancers is dangerous. I read parts of your first book (was given to me by the friend), some parts of your book regarding certain chemos was not true. You never used those treatments and it shows in your knowledge. Please do better research before telling all of these people that the treatments that we know work are poison. So much of your book is hearsay and not proven.

In August 2009 I was diagnosed with Stage 1B cervical cancer with my pelvic lymph nodes and para aortic lymph nodes affected. The standard treatment using conventional medicine is radiation and chemotherapy. They have informed me that I would be very sick during this treatment and there are of course possible serious long term side effects. The prognoses is also very poor. After much prayer and research I finally decided to take an alternative approach starting with cleansing my body of toxins, eating healthier - mostly raw - seeing a naturopathic doctor, as well as an herbalist and also a homeopathic doctor. I am also on many supplements and use therapeutic grade essential oils, internally, topically, vaginally and rectally. I am also working on getting my weight down and I walk every day. I believe that our bodies are capable of healing themselves if we do everything we can to effect this. It has been very frustrating to find a conventional doctor to follow me (as far as CT scans to determine if the cancer is regressing - my oncologist says that it is a valuable waste of medical resources - since they do not believe what I am doing will work and they would only order the CT scans if it would convince me to pursue radiation and chemotherapy). I had surgery, radiation and chemotheraphy 16 years ago for breast cancer. I am just learning about diet, supplements and how they related to our health. I believe a second round with chemo and radiation will kill me as I was very ill the first time. Since starting the cleansing, diet change and supplements, I am feeling better than I have in many years. One of the amazing things that is happening is my 90% grey hair is turning to it's original dark brown color. I started turning very grey after my first bout with cancer fighting drugs 16 years ago. It is amazing what we are willing to accept because of our ignorance and wrong belief systems. We have been brainwashed into thinking that we should be sick all the time once we hit middle age. I am only 49 years old. I will keep you posted as to the progress I am making.

Their common stock is held by amny powerful funds, institutions, money managers etc etc etc. This is a problem as their decline will cause financial repurcussions. 1000+ lobbyists with LARGE bankrolls for donations are a problem. Self serving politicains seeking donations are a problem. Control of hospitals, research activities, media & much more area a problem. The new healthcare bill is a problem.
So - we have a BIG problem! No cure No Heal is their motto -to keep the revenue coming !!

Dear Suzanne,

Perhaps I just missed it, but in all the blogs I've read, or interviews that I heard on the radio or saw you do on TV I have NOT heard the ACTUAL malady you DID have, which fooled so many specialist into thinking that you positively had cancer! Is this something which is misdiagnosed all the time, or is it just so rare, that it should be part of the story line in the next installment of the series 'House'?

Dear Suzanne,

I was thrilled to discover your book "Knockout" just as I was writting one of my own on the same subject. I was diagnosed 18 months ago with an inoperable cancerous tumour in my lung, along with lessions on the ribs, and had about 3 months expected time left. I was so fortunate to have been involved in alternative circles and knew to refuse the chemotherapy which was offered. My naturopthic doctor knew of a shaman in Peru who she'd known to have miraculous results, so I went to him. I am certain I wouldn't be here today had I taken the chemo. I have continued the healing process with a vegan, mostly raw diet, along with the anticancer supplements prescribed by the naturopath.

It is my conclusion also, that we must educate ourselves on alternative modalities to provide us with the best hope for recovery, and to understand how destructive the conventional treatments are, thereby lessening our chances. I know so many people who have got their lives back after a terminal diagnosis using various methods, without chemo. Like everyone, I also knew so many who are no longer with us after horrible suffering due to conventional treatment.

I am so pleased to read of the doctors in your book, whom I shall make reference to in my book. Thank you for your courage to say it like it is, and for the inspiration you've provided me and many others. We have to help disseminate this message.
