I just want to say thank you Suzanne for being a voice for us ladies out here that choose not to go the synthetic route for HRT. I finally had had enough of the mood swings, loss of doing the things I loved most that I went to my female Dr. who specializes in women's health along with anti aging and rejuvenation. After seeing her and having the usual tests done I also had a saliva test done. Immediately after that appt. I began to have terrible hot flashes during the day (at least 14 during my 8hr shift at work) and night sweats that left me tired in the morning and tired for about a good 2 months. My timing could not have been better to see my doctor. I genitally went to see her because I was fed up of heavy bleeding due to fibroid clusters. I just want a procedure (hopefully one that kept all my body parts)to get rid of them and I would no longer miss work to this heavy bleeding they caused and get my energy back from the excessive blood loss. Well....that saliva test show almost no estrogen nor progesterone making its way into my tissues. Fast forward now. I have been on bio identical hormones for 19 days now and I no longer have ANY hot flashes or night sweats! I am beginning to feel myself again....not there yet....but I can feel it if anyone can grasp that. Just to get through work without a fan and turning red from head to toe and to sleep through the night without all this kicking off the blankets...then I feel cold put the blankets on and repeat for the next 8 hrs is a blessing. Suzanne...I am so thankful that you are a voice to this choice of HRT. Someone like me can only pass it on to a few and hopefully they pass it on...you pass it on to the world! Thank You!

That explains why some of our older relatives have changes in the tone of their voices. For myself, after going through two different years of chemotherapy and also menopause, I found my voice cracking just like a boy in puberty. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
Today I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my primary doctor treats with hormone therapy. That was a great discovery!

This is very interesting. I need to read more on this. I wonder if BHRT can help regulate hormones to stop abdominal pain. Can they mimic pregnancy (the time when I have no stomach cramping)

I started my hormone threatment just 4-5 months ago and am really ecxited about it. i will turn 40 in a few weeks, but still dreaming of having another kid, I have one, hes a teenager. Dear suzann, I was wondering if you could please tell me what form of Bht you are on, because their are different ones out there, as you know, also do you get your period back on the form of bht you are on? thank you so very very much for all you do for womans issues! also Once I start the bht will that help me to loose the weight I have gained? Or to help me to get my weight back in control with working out?

Hello Suzanne,

Thank you Suzanne. I heard there are lot of side effects in Hormone Replacement Therapy, which I mentioned bellow.
Prolonged usage of Hormone Replacement Therapy has been associated with several risks, which have been proven by clinical studies and trials. These include:

• Increased risk of developing endometrial cancer, especially if estrogen therapy is used (without progesterone)
• Prolonged usage of combined HRT (i.e. estrogen with progesterone) is associated with increased risk of breast cancer
• Usage of Hormone Replacement Therapy for more than four years is associated with increased risk of ovarian cancer
• Estrogen therapy is associated with increased risk of developing blood clots. Further, the prolonged usage of combined HRT is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke or heart attack.
• Bloating, fluid retention and mood swings are associated with the use of artificial progesterone, while the use of estrogen is associated with nausea, headache, vomiting and breast pain.
• Occasionally, spotting or vaginal bleeding may be observed intermittently, during the menstrual cycle, which is attributed to the use of combined HRT.

Susan. As we age these same hormones (particularly estrogen and testosterone) decline, our voices may be changing again, but no better this time. But, like other negative changes in hormone levels associated with decreased, BHRT can also combat the "aging voice speaking and singing." In fact, I have heard many, they are increasingly unreliable back only bioidentical hormone replacement therapy after a few weeks ago, many women in full voice.Yeah,it is ,we should treat ourselves better.

Suzanne I finally found the right doctor in Rhode Island and have been using
bioidentical hormones and I feel great. I did read your last book and it let
me know I was not the only woman out having all these symptoms with no relief.
It really is to bad that as woman we never get to a full understanding of menopause unless we do the work ourselves. There are so many doctors out there
who just want to put you on medication and go to the next patient. Kudos to you!

Dear Suzanne,

Good Health is not a Government goal or the USDA and FDA would have the same clout as they do in Europe to shut down and fine companies like Cadbury Schweppes when their chocolate caused a Salmonella outbreak. The fine was $28 million and no Cadbury Schweppes items could be sold anywhere in Europe until that fine was paid. They faught it.. but till they coughed up the EU was intractable. Thus, I surmise, the USDA and FDA will never have that clout here, because the Government will never sue itself and therefore enforce proper food standards.

Further, since 95% of what is available on grocery shelves is inedible, chemical laden junk food, often compiled outside the US where food standards and quality isn't properly supervised; this can only mean the Government has no interest in our health. In fact with an aging Tsunami and a reduction in Health Care the only possible consideration is they don't want a healty aging population.. hence the controls! When you control health care, you also control the age and quality of life of your population. Hence the method behind their madness, it's so obvious there is no other explanation.

Love what you are doing.. have been insisting on organic products for years. However, even those companies who have that label don't always have pure products as you know. Brands like Kraft and General Foods don't take it really seriously.

I wish you well and am so happy you are speaking out on this. So few people are well informed.. or they turn a blind eye when they go into the grocery store, or worse restaurants. (I always call ahead to see where their meat, fish and chicken comes from... rarely is it clean, healthy food).
