Suzanne,
One of my pet peeves is the fact that doctors don't listen to their patients. Both my parents died as a result of the fact that they ignored them and me and refused to hear what we were saying. I think once they get that medical degree sometimes they consider themselves "godlike" in many respects. Thanks for posting this and kudos to Jessica for making them listen.

I am so happy when my patients TELL ME what's wrong with them! It's awesome when patients know that something isn't right and demand that their physician or clinician pays attention to THEIR symptoms instead of just doing what they are told. I saw a young girl who was put on antibiotics for a "sinus infection" three times in three months (because she went to three different doctors) who all told her that her headache, dizziness, and nausea were because she had an upper respiratory infection. They ignored the fact that she was on medroxyprogesterone and wasn't having periods and was not feeling good. Thanks for posting this because people have to believe that they are their best "doctor" and may just need guidance from the expert!

While I have always felt that modern medicine can perform miracles in people's lives, there are times when a patient needs to take their health into their own hands or in the case of my friend the health of their loved ones. Jan's mother had suffered a diseased liver for many years from too many prescription drugs the consequences of which put her into an ICU with a failing liver. So jaundiced that in the words of my friend, 'the whites of her eyes were bright yellow'.
Hooked with tubes to machines, Jan asked the attending doctor to save her mother. The doctor replied, "She's lived a good life let her go." My friend then asked her mother if she wanted to live. Her mother did. With that my friend smuggled in essential oils and began rubbing them on her mother's feet. Within hours bile from the liver began to fill the tube leading out from her body. That was last Thanksgiving. I saw Jan's mother in Feb. Her coloring healthy and was gaining her strength back. While medicine has been a blessing to mankind, sometimes alternatives can fill in where medicine can't.

It is so unfortunate that doctors here in this country don't embrace alternative medical care like they do in foreign countries such as Israel when it comes to treating diseases. Doctors in Israel are sending their cancer patients to a farm that grows the spice lemongrass. Researchers at Ben Gurion University of Negev have discovered that the lemon aroma in herbs like lemongrass kills cancer cells invitro, while leaving healthy cells unharmed. Citral, a key component that gives lemons that lemony smell, causes cancer cells to self-destruct "using apoptosis, a mechanism called programmed cell death." With the citral in the essential oil lemongrass made into a cup of tea helps kill cancer cells. As many physicians learn of the BGU findings, though they believe more studies are needed, have their patients use the cancer-destroying properties of citral as a possible tool to fight their cancer. (This could also explain by lemon makes such a good liver cleanse).

It is again a case of medical negligance where doctor missed out the actual disease & gave a wrong diagnosis. Jessica You are great that you did so much to know the right disease.

This is a great story. I think Jessica is an extraordinary personality. Hats of to Jessica! Misdiagnosis might lead to more complications in the treatment of disease and sometimes becomes irreversible.

Well I too, is going to be a biggest fan of Jessica. She is a smart kid, won't just rest and rely on other opinion. True, sometimes some diagnosis can be mistaken, it happened to me once, so what I did is went to another hospital and check by 2 intern doctor and one license one, and told me I am fine and nothing to be afraid of.

What a very smart young lady. I am amazed how Jessica diagnosed herself. This is an amazing step in her life, I am sure there will be many more great achievements to come for Jessica.

suzanne, this a good story.i just think doctors should take time to listen to there patient,by so doing i am sure nothing would be left out and rather it would enhance there diagnosis.jessica has taken a good step.

id like to see her opinion on dr joanna budwig , i did alot or studying on her. as well as a few other researchers working on oils, fats, and day light filtering effects on plants and animals. the results are overwelming. id like to see susan start a web site on this and others that have been doing work since the 60's. joanna budwig by the way had been taken to court over here information to the public where as the feds told the fda ect... that her extensive reasearch outweight there's !

technicly we are filters, and what we put in us becomes us. i for one wouldnt want to glow green. my mom died april after refuseing the chemo and they instead x-rayed her to death . to the tune of 5 to 6 x-rays a day while in the hospital. when i asked about exposure they stop dead in there tracks and waited for me to leave and then came and got her again for yet another round. she passes 7 days later.

thanks for telling everyone about there inconsistancy. id rather seen someone know about what they can do even if i cant sue the pants off of them GO SUSAN ! THANKS .....
