Q: CAN I HAVE CHOCOLATE? |
| A: On Level Two you may enjoy dark chocolate in moderation. It must be at least 60 percent cocoa. I like Valhrôna, but there are many others. You may enjoy a variety of SomerSweet chocolates as an Almost Level One treat in moderation. They are available at SuzanneSomers.com. |

Q: CAN I PURCHASE 60 PERCENT CHOCOLATE FROM A GROCERY STORE? CAN I USE IT FOR SNACKING AS WELL AS BAKING PURPOSES? |
| A: My grocery store, Whole Foods in Los Angeles, carries 60 percent chocolate. Valrhôna is the brand. You may use it for snacking and baking on Level Two. |

Q: CAN I SWEETEN UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE? IS IT ALLOWED ON LEVEL ONE? |
| A: Unsweetened chocolate is still a Funky Food because it has caffeine, which can spike insulin all on its own. It contains a small amount of carbohydrate. Overall, it is only a minor imbalance; if you are steadily losing weight on Level One, you can try incorporating this treat every now and then. |

Q: THE CHOCOLATE ALMOND TORTE RECIPE CALLS FOR 8 OUNCES OF DARK CHOCOLATE. I USED BAKING CHOCOLATE AND IT TASTED A LITTLE BITTER. SHOULD I HAVE USED SWEETENED CHOCOLATE? HOW CAN YOU TELL IF IT HAS AT LEAST 60 PERCENT COCOA? |
| A: Dark chocolate has some sugar in it. Baking chocolate is unsweetened. This recipe was done before I had SomerSweet. Now I would use unsweetened chocolate and SomerSweet or SomerSweet Chocolate. |

Q: WHAT'S THE FINAL WORD ON CAROB? |
| A: Carob is similar to chocolate in that it has fats and carbohydrates. Sorry, it's Funky. |
