Iscador Information
Mistletoe has been extensively researched in almost 100 scientific studies.
Mistletoe has been reviewed by experts at the National Institute of Health as an adjunctive and complementary treatment for cancer.
Iscador, the name for a mistletoe preparation manufactured by a European pharmaceutical company, is available in the United States, and is registered with and regulated by the FDA.
Mistletoe is officially monographed as a drug in the HPUS.
Mistletoe appears to be most effective when used in conjunction with conventional medical care for the treatment of solid tumors such as breast cancer. It does not appear to be useful as an adjunctive treatment for lymphomas or leukemias.
