Somersize Recipe Contest Cookbook
The story behind the
Somersize Recipe Contest Cookbook
began in 2001 when I launched this website. I was so excited to read
your posts from all over the world, telling your stories of success
with Somersizing, answering one another's questions, and sharing your
fabulous recipes. As I looked through the recipes on the website,
I was thrilled to see the creative and delicious ideas for new Somersize
Recipes. And then it hit me... a Somersize Recipe
Contest! We set up some guidelines and announced the contest.
I promised there would be up to 30 winners who would have their recipes
published in a future Somersize book, and each winner would receive
a $250 gift certificate to SuzanneSomers.com
The
recipes began pouring in. We received over 1,000 entries. I gathered
a Recipe Contest Committee which consisted of me, Alan, and my daughter-in-law,
Caroline. We cooked and tasted and cooked and tasted. We had a very
difficult time narrowing it down to just 30 winners, so we ultimately
chose the 30 Grand Prize Winners and also
added a new category for 30 Honorable Mentions
to receive a $50 gift certificate to SuzanneSomers.com.
We
had so many wonderful entries that we have devoted an entire,
beautiful, full-color book to the contest, complete with the
60 fabulous recipes featuring Hors D'oeuvres,
Breakfasts, Soups & Salads, Sauces & Dressings, Side Dishes,
Entrees, and Desserts. We've also included tons of full-color
photos of these delicious recipes, plus
before and after photos of the winners with their
moving stories of success. We looked through all your letters
and delighted in reading your wonderful testimonials of how much you
love this way of eating. It warms my heart that you are losing weight
with ease and loving the food.
And to celebrate your expertise in the kitchen, we have combined the
Recipe Contest Cookbook with a darling sage-green
Somersize Apron! My signature apron is made of thick, washable
cotton, and has an adorable lavender gingham yoke and trim. Plus it
has an adjustable neck strap and two deep pockets for your convenience.
