Allen, when you were thanking first your family, then secondly “ the ladies,“ it dawned on me that I am one of the ladies!!
I didn’t consider myself one of the club or someone to be included, but I’d say I am definitely one of the “ladies.”
By about 1999 when my fourth child was born, needing to loose some weight, I found Suzanne‘s books so delightful and helpful.
I Somersized, used Somersweet and to this day still use my hand mixer, ice shaver, and yes, my Suzanne Somers ice cream maker!
I would watch Suzanne and Colleen on HSN, (their uncontrollable laughing was so fun.) and boy did I wish I could go on that cruise, but it wasn’t to be for me with four children under 7….
I was happy to join in by watching the HSN broadcast from the ship.
Later I remember Suzanne saying she would never do that again without her hairdresser, lol. If I would’ve been there, I could have done her hair as I am a hairdresser for many years…😊

I was remembering how I entered her recipe contest, I added a story about my grandma and how she used to make with waffles lots of melted butter🧇.
I think I added some sort of caramel sauce made with somersweet🙂.

I appreciated all information about hormone replacement, and boy did I take notes when she did her TV series. I was always with her on the quest to be as healthy and best that we could be.

I have the craziest story about wanting to see her lecture that you guys presented in the theater… I pre bought tickets online and dragged my husband to the Chinese theater in Hollywood.
We waited in line for a while… I “knew” I was in the right place since I saw Suzanne on the Jumbotron sign just outside the theater. We went up to a table where people were being checked in before entering the Chinese theater. Everything was very exciting, red carpet and everything!! As we looked around the grand Chinese theater, I thought boy “Suzanne knows everybody” and they have all come out for her lecture, how exciting! Not until the movie started did I realize that we had strolled into the premiere of “Love and Other Drugs“ starring Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Jamie Lee Curtis was over here, and the stars in the movie up there, but all I could think of was “where’s Suzanne?”
…It was getting late and I was missing her lecture about hormone replacement!!
Yes, we missed the lecture movie about hormone replacement.
Oh my gosh, on our way home, my husband and I laughed sooo hard as we shouted “WHERE’S SUZANNE” out of the windows of the car while driving down Hollywood Bl…. “ Where’s Suzanne?!!!”Oh, it was funny. I still can’t believe we were in the wrong movie theater. Oy vay! What a couple of dorks. Sure was an adventure though.
I know this is long winded, but I have one more little story from just the other day.
On the evening of October 14th, there was a loud party somewhere in my neighborhood, and because of this I wasn’t falling asleep easily.
I didn’t want to close my window because I enjoy the breeze.
I closed my eyes and remembered that Suzanne would say when she was having trouble going to sleep, she would repeat to herself “you’re sleeping, you’re asleep“…So that’s what I did, and fell asleep. This actually happened again around 4:30- 5:00am. I was trying again to fall back asleep, I thought of her again. Why she was on my mind, I don’t know.
I hadn’t heard the news about Suzanne until later in the afternoon. I actually wondered if her spirit paid me a visit that night, I hadn’t thought of her in a long time, so why that night? Maybe in the spiritual realm there is a connection even if we never met a person, but because that person has touched your heart, you can just sense things. 🌻
Thank you all for your open hearts. Your family has been magnificent! God bless you and strengthen you as you move forward. Love you all,
Lisa

I was named Suzanne as well. I have spent my whole life correcting people when they would pronounce my name as Susan. I would always correct them and say it’s Suzanne like Suzanne Somers. People always smiled after saying this. So thank you Suzanne for giving this to me. You were the best and love your success story. Thank you Suzanne
