Thank you to AL, Bruce, Caroline and the extended family for sharing Suzanne with us both in these last weeks and for so many years. I am grateful for her life-changing cookbooks that my husband would give to me over the years. The books brought a special bond between myself, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law that would not have existed without Suzanne. Blessings to all of you and we will be thinking of you and praying for you always. Love, Kristin
It was such a shock to hear of Suzanne’s passing last Sunday. It was as if a friend had gone. I found myself catching my breath throughout the week when I remembered again that she…at least in her physical form.. was no longer on this earth.
What a difference she made with her life.
Werner Erhard has said that it is the stand people take in life that is the defining thing no matter what else is going on. Suzanne embodied that. In her love for Bruce, her husband Al, her blended family, her ‘career’ ( such an odd word guven that Suzanne’s work was the complete expression of herself and her desire to give to people.
Her book on working through the trauma of growing up in an alcoholic family and doing the emotional work to heal and blend hers and Al’s family into a living healthy one really moved me.
Her book 365 Ways to Change Your Life I still have on my bookshelf…after many moves and purging of things… Suzanne’s book my heart couldn’t let go of.
Her Facemaster has been invaluable…and during hard times it gave me the confidence that I my face wasn’t showing all the turmoil my life was enduring.
As a woman that is invaluable to feel.
Maybe 20+ years ago I bought a beautiful bracelet from HSN after seeing Suzanne model it and talk about it. It was as beautiful as she said it was and made me so happy every time I I put it on.
And after the purchase I came home one day to a message on my answering machine: " Hi ! It’s Suzanne Somers!"
I am sure I jumped hearing her voice. It was as if she was in the room. Lol.
Yes it was a recording ..yet the idea to do it, the personal way of connecting to her customers and her lovely upbeat and confident voice was such a delight. Suzanne communicated her heart and soul through her voice and when you heard it you got her message: love your family, appreciate your life, learn it’s lessons, work hard and give give give.
So this past week when I thought how will we all go through our lives without Suzanne’s spirit, I realized too how much she gave to me, to all of us…and the greatest gift is how to live…how to love.
I pray for comfort, love and peace for Al, Bruce, Caroline and her whole family.
Watching your Instagram video since her passing has made me laugh out loud from the joy you all share and cry.
May you all continue to feel Suzanne’s love with you and God’s blessings and protection.
And I can’t recall how I came to have a calendar she did..perhaps 20 years ago as well…..yet that calendar is still on my shelf with it’s inspirations for a happy healthy life on each page.
Dear Alan, I remember a long time ago you said that if one of you passed the other one would be gone in 24 hours. I thought wow that’s a special love. Sorrowfully, Claudette
It’s not that there are no words, there are just too many to express the love, inspiration and impact that Suzanne and the entire family shared and continues to share with us, your extended family. I often insta corresponded with Caroline about recipes, et al and was amazed and appreciative that she took time out of an extremely busy life to respond, always. I told her the 3 nights a week were my happy place and often saved the videos to watch before bedtime after a sometimes news weary day. I have followed Suzanne since that first Johnny Carson appearance, her 3 cookbooks have been and are my no-fail go-to with coffee table worthy pictures. (Alans eggs in a nest still my fav breakfast) When my 2 children were small we’d snuggle in bed to watch the family friendly few shows which included Step By Step. I am a year younger than Suzanne and she was my inspiration for everything good in the world. I’ve been as organic as possible since 17 (not easy back then) spending hours in stores reading ingredients. Suzanne’s products became a godsend. The only things I don’t have of hers/yours are food & paper products!! We say “may her memory be a blessing” as she gave us so many wonderful memories. I hope you continue to share her many career highlights. Blessings, love to all the extended family and making us feel a part. XO. Pamela
I’m so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Suzanne. My sincere condolences to Allen & Bruce and the rest of her beautiful family. I have loved her and watched her since I was a teenager. Always loved her on Three’s company and Step by Step. She was such a bright light. I was captivated the first time I was scrolling through Facebook and came across one of her lives. I have since been hooked and have watched numerous videos, while in my bed at night, of her and Allen and just loved her soft-spoken voice, her laugh, her beautiful smile and the interaction between Suzanne and Allen was just magical. The love they had for each other and was so amazing to watch and be a part of and I thank you for letting us be a part of it and welcoming us into your home and life. I have purchased several of Suzanne’s books and they have 100% changed my life. I changed everything in my life to Organic and living holistically and I owe it all to her. She has truly been my biggest inspiration and I will forever be grateful to her for sharing her story and journey of her life. I will end by saying I am so deeply saddened by her passing and will continue to buy her products and live my life in her honor by continuing to follow everything I have learned from her by living clean, organically & holistically. She will be truly missed. I pray for your family for peace and to find comfort in the cherished memories of your beautiful Suzanne. May she rest in heavenly Peace.
